York USA is pleased to announce its 2009 Beth A. Hufnagle Memorial Scholarship winners. First place winners of the $1000 scholarship are Alexandra Gross (Spring Grove) and Greg Hess (South Western); $800 second place winners are Laruen Murphy (Central York) and Joshua Kehler (Central York).

It is with great sadness that York USA shares the passing of a true champion of youth soccer, Charlotte Moran. Charlotte, the Executive Director of the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA), passed on May 18th after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She will be remembered as a pioneer and advocate of youth and women's soccer on the local, state, regional, and national levels.

NOTICE: TRYOUTS RESCHEDULED due to WEATHER
York USA has been advised that the following tryouts, originally planed for tonight (Monday, May 5) have been canceled:

• Hanover U13 Boys Tryouts canceled; rescheduled for Monday, May 11 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Utz Fields.
• All Eastern U10 through U14 Tryouts canceled; rescheduled for the week of May 18 (Read more...).

Tryouts season is once again upon us. Most York USA member clubs that field travel and premier-level competitive teams are or will soon be scheduling tryouts for the 2009/2010 season. Learn more by monitoring the York USA Tryouts page or the websites of individual Member Clubs.

Clubs who have already scheduled tryouts (not necessarily inclusive of all club tryouts): Eastern York, FC York, Hanover.

NOTICE: All Teams Scheduled to Play on Barshinger Field 3
The Hellam / Eastern Soccer Club has announced that Field 3 will be closed for the remainder of the Spring 2009 season. All games currently scheduled for Field 3 will be played on Field 4. Field 4 is located on the east-side of Accomac Road across from the main Barshinger Fields complex. Please bring any and all needed refreshments to these games as the concession stand will be closed on Sundays. Also, please avoid crossing Accomac Road on foot whenever possible.

ENTRY FEE CHANGE
York USA, the host of the York Recreational Tournament, has decided to lower the entry fees for this year's event. Entry fees for U8 teams is now only $50; the reduced entry fee for U9 and older teams is now only $100.  These lower fees apply only to the York Recreational Tournament (normal travel team fees still apply to the York Cup Classic travel team tournament). York Recreational Tournamnet registrations will remain open until April 24th or until brackets have been filled.

The UNP Soccer Club has been unexpectedly forced to move all their U8 home games from Springettsbury Park to Hoffman Field (across from York Catholic High School). This change, which will soon be reflected in the official league schedules, affects all teams playing the following at UNP's home field:

New for 2009, we are introducing a new survey function on the York USA website. Our surveys may be accessed from the main menu and from the Survey page. Indiivdual online surveys will come and go as need for infomation demands. Most surveys will be open to the public, that is, the players, parents, coaches, club adminstrators, and others associated with the teams and clubs that make up our organization.

To introduce this new function, we invite you to complete our first two important surveys. The first concerns the new York USA game ball introduced in the Fall 2008 season; the second concerns the York USA small-sided, under-8 program also introduced in the Fall 2008 season.
