• About the E-Course - An 18 hour course with focus on the U10 through U12 age athlete running January 27th through 29th.
• About the F-Course -  A 4 hour course with focus on the U8 age athlete running March 10th.
• About the G-Course - A 4 hour course with focus on the U6 age athlete running March 17th.

The Panthers Soccer Club is sponsoring the an E-course at the Central York High School (map & directions) in York, PA.

2012 / 2013 Referee Fees
The new Referee Fees schedule for the 2012/2013 soccer year has been released and is available on the EPYSA website. These new fees go into effect on August 1, 2012.

Remember - Each team is responsible for one half of the Referee Fees.

Due to overwhelming response, the York Areas Soccer Referees Association (YASRA) will be holding a second New Referee Certification Class this winter. This new class will be held as follows:

• February 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at St. Joseph's School, Dallstown
• March 1 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at St. Joseph's School, Dallstown
• March 6 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at St. Joseph's School, Dallstown
• March 8 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at St. Joseph's School, Dallstown
• March 10 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Northeastern, Manchester
• March 13 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at St. Joseph's School, Dallstown

The York Revolution Professional Baseball Club will be hosting a Soccer Night on Friday, May 11, 2012. Come out as a team, wear your jerseys, and participate in the pre-game parade around the field. Check out the flyer for more information and to order your tickets.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer 2012 Workshop will be held March 3, 2012 at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA. Join over 1,500 soccer coaches, administrators, referees and enthusiasts at the organization's annual workshop, the area's largest of its kind for youth sports. The event features more than 35 educational workshops and demonstrations kicking off on Saturday morning and runs through Saturday late-afternoon.

Long term athletic development was the main theme at a recent meeting of EPYSA member club Presidents, Representatives, and Directors of Coaching. Read John Fellenbaum's (York USA Director of Coaching) report on this topic and follow his blog for more information.

York USA donated $500 to purchase supplies and “comforts from home” for U.S. troops serving in Afghanistan. The proposal was from Board member Al Chesnavage whose son, Timothy, is a Marine  currently serving at Camp Leatherneck in Southern Afghanistan.

We will be making this an annual event and donations (supplies and money) are being accepted at the league office (directions and contact info).

York USA recently adopted modified, age appropriate Laws of the Game to govern play in our league while providing reasonable consistency with surrounding leagues (for the purpose of tournament play) and to foster development in accordance to US Youth Soccer guidelines and recommendations. These laws may be down loaded from our Forms page.

Notes:

• The size of the penalty area (14 yards) was inadvertently left out of the recently adopted York USA league U10 8v8 Laws. This document has now been revised and re-posted.
• The York USA Game Standards remain our core set of rules governing play within the league. The new U6 through U10 modified Laws of the Game supercede the Game Standards where there is a difference in the provided guidance.
• Play in U12 and older travel-level age groups reamain governed by our legacy York USA Game Standards.
• Play in U12 and older a recreational-level age groups remain governed by our York USA Game Standards except where superceded by our Recreational Soccer Rules.
